3 - Inspiring crypto/blockchain quotes
“Whereas most technologies tend to automate workers on the periphery doing menial tasks, blockchains automate away the center. Instead of putting the taxi driver out of a job, blockchain puts Uber out of a job and lets the taxi drivers work with the customer directly.”
Vitalik Buterin, Co-Founder of Ethereum
“Anything that can conceive of as a supply chain, blockchain can vastly improve its efficiency- it doesn’t matter if its people, numbers, data, money.”
“You’re going to start seeing open-source, self-executing contracts gradually improve over time. What the Internet did to publishing, blockchain will do to about 160 different industries. It’s crazy.”
Patrick M. Byrne, CEO of Overstock.com
2 - Reflections from this week’s blog
The growth of blockchain over the past couple of years can not be overstated. There are many who would still call crypto a fringe asset, but it’s hard to take that seriously when 17% of American adults now own crypto, far more than gold, and the number of wallets worldwide has doubled over the last couple of years. The growth has been astonishing, and it will be interesting to see where crypto stands two years or more into the future.
Through my research into innovative projects and use cases of blockchain, I have come to a realization: there are few things in the world that blockchain couldn’t vastly improve, disrupt, or impact in some way. There are few technologies that can boast this, and blockchain is definitely one of them.
