Fifteen NFT projects & collectives building greater inclusion and diversity in web3

NFTs took the world by storm in 2021, and this momentum has only increased to start off 2022. One of the most exciting things in the NFT space is all the amazing projects using the power of NFTs to empower traditionally underserved populations, to celebrate diversity, and to build inclusion in web3. Collectively, these projects are helping break down barriers and build a more inclusive NFT and web3 space for all.

For this post, we highlight fifteen amazing NFT collectives and projects that are promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in the web3 space.

 

1. World of Women – World of Women is a collection of 10,000 beautiful artworks of diverse and powerful women. However, it is more than just an NFT collection, it is a community empowering greater diversity, representation, and inclusion in the web3 space. They support emerging artists and non-profits around the world, with 15% of primary sales being reinvested in crypto art, and 2.5% of all primary sales donated to important causes including She’s The First, Too Young to Wed, and to support a community member fighting ME/CFS.

 

2. ARTXV – ARTXV is a community of artists, allies, and collectors, promoting diversity in the NFT space by empowering neurodiverse artists. ARTXV shines a light on the amazing works of neurodiverse artists, raises awareness of neurodiversity, and helps neurodiverse artists achieve economic independence. ARTXV recently announced its partnership with Google Arts & Culture, the first of its kind for an NFT collective!

 

3. Walking Between Worlds – Walking Between Worlds is a movement using NFTs to empower Indigenous communities, by bringing a level playing field of opportunity for Indigenous artists, who have traditionally faced barriers in accessing the world of professional art. Their Genesis Collection, with the theme of Indigenous Dance, comprises 2,222 pieces developed by Indigenous artists.

 

4. Women and Weapons – Women and Weapons is a collection of 10,000 diverse women NFTs, with hundreds of attributes which make each verifiably unique. 5% of all proceeds raised through the project support The Malala Fund, an organization that supports equitable access to education for women around the world.

 

5. Queer Friends NFTQueer Friends NFT is a Queer Women-led NFT collection “celebrating the beautiful queerness in all of us”. Recognizing the inequities that exist in new spaces, and that women and queer people often get access later than men, they aim to create an NFT space that celebrates diversity and is inclusive of all people.

 

6. Power of Women – Power of Women has the mission of creating artwork that empowers women, building a more diverse and inclusive web3 community, and driving social impact. To date, they have launched four extraordinary collections including “League of Extraordinary Women,” “The Veiled Ladies,” “Cova Dignity Collection,” and “Women of the Metaverse”.

 

7. Honey Badges NFT – Honey Badges is a collection 10,000 soon-to-be minted NFTs that support changemakers, encourage diversity and inclusion in the NFT space, and fight for equality around the world.

 

8. Baddie Babes NFTs – Baddie Babes NFTs is a collection of 99 unique hand drawn NFTs “inspired by the outspoken, underestimated, and baddest babes in the game”. The collection celebrates “the imperfectly beautiful and diverse women who are tired of being held back by gender,” with 10% of proceeds supporting Girl Up, an organization dedicated to advancing leadership opportunities for girls.



9. Yes Queen Club – Yes Queen Club is on a mission to bring diversity and inclusion to the crypto and metaverse worlds that are shaping the future of our economy and our society. They aim to ensure these spaces are a fit for everyone rather than just reflecting today’s power structures. The collection consists of 10,000 pieces, auctioned one at a time over 10,000 hours, with 100% of proceeds going to the Yes Queen DAO treasury to support future diversity and inclusion initiatives.

 

10. Women Tribe – Women Tribe has the mission to “help women and all people embrace their inner divinity and power.” Their collection pre-sale launches on February 15th, with the public sale going live on February 19th, with a portion of proceeds supporting charitable causes that are in line with their values, and to fund a scholarship program for women in need.

 

11. Women Rise NFT – Women Rise NFT is an NFT collection consisting of 10,000 unique art pieces representing a diversity of women from across the world. The project recognizes the amazing women activists, artists, scientists, and coders all over the world making the world a better place, while helping make the NFT space more inclusive and diverse. All pieces are created by Maliha Abidi, and artists and advocate for women’s rights, gender equality, and girl’s education.

 

12. Moon Landing – Moon Landing supports neurodiverse artists and collaborations in the NFT space, by producing NFT projects in collaboration with non-profits working at the intersection of art and disabilities. They advocate for neurodiverse artists, help support them in the production of works, and help foster dialogue between artists and the broader NFT community.

 

13. Crypto Beauties  - Crypto Beauties is a collection of 11,111 NFTs with a mission to empower women in the NFT space. 65+ ETH from the project’s mint will be used to establish a Crypto Beauties DAO, and to support women’s empowerment causes.

 

14. Black NFT ArtBlack NFT Art is “a media and community brand empowering black people in the NFT space through content, promotion, and events.” They run the Rise Collectors Club, which helps onboard new Black collectors into NFTs, provides education and support for Black and underrepresented artists, and gives away NFTs to their community.

 

15. Crypto.Chicks – Crypto.Chicks has two NFT collections, with the second-generation collection consisting of 10,000 randomly generated girls with a diversity of features and attributes. The collection was created to “highlight the importance of women in the crypto space and reflects the individuality and uniqueness of every woman.”
