Celebrating International Women’s Day - Highlighting 40 women-led web3 projects, Collectives, and DAOs
In honour of International Women’s Day, we want to shine a light on and celebrate some of the amazing women-led projects and collectives that are helping build a more inclusive and equitable web3 space. For this blog post, we highlight 40 women-led Projects, Collectives, and DAOs that are supporting and celebrating women in web3!
1. World of Women – World of Women is a collection of 10,000 beautiful artworks of diverse and powerful women. However, it is more than just an NFT collection, it is a community empowering greater diversity, representation, and inclusion in the web3 space. They support emerging artists and non-profits around the world, with 15% of primary sales being reinvested in crypto art, and 2.5% of all primary sales donated to important causes including She’s The First, Too Young to Wed, and to support a community member fighting ME/CFS.
2. Women and Weapons – Women and Weapons is a collection of 10,000 diverse women NFTs, with hundreds of attributes which make each verifiably unique. 5% of all proceeds raised through the project support The Malala Fund, an organization that supports equitable access to education for women around the world.
3. Female Founders on the Block – Female Founders on the Block hosts conversations supporting and encouraging female founders in the web3 space. This includes regular “Founder’s Chat” twitter spaces where they bring together Female Founders for community discussion and support.
4. Power of Women – Power of Women has the mission of creating artwork that empowers women, building a more diverse and inclusive web3 community, and driving social impact. To date, they have launched four extraordinary collections including “League of Extraordinary Women,” “The Veiled Ladies,” “Cova Dignity Collection,” and “Women of the Metaverse”.
5. Baddie Babes NFTs – Baddie Babes NFTs is a collection of 99 unique hand drawn NFTs “inspired by the outspoken, underestimated, and baddest babes in the game”. The collection celebrates “the imperfectly beautiful and diverse women who are tired of being held back by gender,” with 10% of proceeds supporting Girl Up, an organization dedicated to advancing leadership opportunities for girls.
6. Women Tribe – Women Tribe has the mission to “help women and all people embrace their inner divinity and power.” Their collection pre-sale launches on February 15th, with the public sale going live on February 19th, with a portion of proceeds supporting charitable causes that are in line with their values, and to fund a scholarship program for women in need.
7. Women Rise NFT – Women Rise NFT is an NFT collection consisting of 10,000 unique art pieces representing a diversity of women from across the world. The project recognizes the amazing women activists, artists, scientists, and coders all over the world making the world a better place, while helping make the NFT space more inclusive and diverse. All pieces are created by Maliha Abidi, and artists and advocate for women’s rights, gender equality, and girl’s education.
8. Crypto Beauties - Crypto Beauties is a collection of 11,111 NFTs with a mission to empower women in the NFT space. 65+ ETH from the project’s mint will be used to establish a Crypto Beauties DAO, and to support women’s empowerment causes.
9. Crypto.Chicks – Crypto.Chicks has two NFT collections, with the second-generation collection consisting of 10,000 randomly generated girls with a diversity of features and attributes. The collection was created to “highlight the importance of women in the crypto space and reflects the individuality and uniqueness of every woman.”
10. HerStory DAO – HerStory DAO is helping bring equity to the arts space by acting as a collective that helps incubate and bring to light the works of marginalized crypto creators, specifically in the NFT space.
11. 90s Babes – 90s Babes is a generative collection of 10,000 NFTs that celebrate the history of women as agents of change and aims to empower women through NFTs. They also donate a portion of proceeds to organizations such as Female Strong, an organization dedicated to empowering young women to become future leaders.
12. Flower Girls – Flower Girls is a collection of 10,000 unique NFTs, generated from over 950 hand drawn elements. “The Flower Girls celebrate natural beauty, purity and diversity, raising the standards for Fine Art NFT Collectibles.”
13. Encryptas by CypherCHK – Encryptas is a collection of 10,000 “faceless coder chicks” each inspired by the fashion of millennial and Gen Z women. “Encryptas pays tribute to the new emerging power of girls blowing up the system through the Blockchain”
14. Fame Lady Squad – Fame Lady Squad is the first generative all female avatar NFT project. They have an extraordinary community that exists to provide opportunities and support to women of all backgrounds.
15. WoW Pixies – Wow Pixies NFT is a collection of 5,555 randomly generated pixies “whose vision is to lift up and help bring Women led projects to the forefront by acquiring the biggest pieces from the many amazing projects like World of Women, Boss Beauties, Fame Lady Squad, Crypto Chicks, and many others”. Upon sellout, the project will be donating 5 ETH to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) USA and MMIW Canada.
16. Empower Women Planet – Empower Women Planet (EWPS) is a collection of 8,888 NFTs with the goal to “utterly revolutionize this space for women by providing them with the necessary tools to develop their careers and personal lives through a network of successful individuals all interconnected within the metaverse.”
17. Unstoppable Women of Web3 – Unstoppable Women of Web 3 is “A diversity and education group focusing on training the next generation of talent, with a goal to onboard women to Web3.” They offer a series of educational events, networking opportunities, and other support to help onboard women in to web3.
18. NFLips – NFLips is a collection of 10,000 randomly generated NFTs and has the goal of empowering more female artists to launch NFT projects through their community. NFLips also act as utility tokens for the first ever female launchpad dedicated to empowering women in NFTs.
19. MetaAngel DAO – MetaAngelDAO has a vision to “focus on empowering, supporting, and backing women’s projects/businesses in the online cryptocurrency and NFT (Non-Fungible Token) spheres (or off, it’s up to the holders) to offset the inequality shown in the current model.” They aim to invest in women-led projects, offer IRL events, and support charities helping women.
20. Renaissance Women NFT – Renaissance Women NFT is an NFT collection that celebrates diversity, inclusivity, mental health, and women’s empowerment in web3, and aims to help onboard women into web3.
21. Women in NFTs – Women in NFTs is a community dedicated to connecting and highlighting women & non-binary people in NFTs. They operate a Discord community to help connect women in the space and facilitate partnerships with women-led projects.
22. Cyber Girl Metaverse – Cyber Girl Metaverse NFT collections include 5555 NFTs minted on the Ethereum blockchain, and 15,000 on Binance Smart Chain, all inspired by cyberpunk and diversity of femininity.
23. WoMeNFT – WoMeNFT is a collection of 1500 NFTs “representing a new era of gorgeous arts girls within the NFT world.” “The WoMeNFT Collection was created to highlight the importance of women in the crypto space and reflects the individuality and uniqueness of every woman.”
24. RiseDAO – RiseDAO is “a not-for-profit DAO focused on giving women residing in developing economies better opportunities to establish themselves in the tech/NFT space, where opportunities might be scarce, and costs of acquiring cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum prohibitive.” They offer grants to women to assist with gas and minting fees, training opportunities for women in coding, and mentorship opportunities.
25. Bit Baddies NFT – Bit Baddies is a collection of 5000 Baddie NFTs and is the first female and LGBTQ+ project on Solana. The project was created “with inspiration from drag culture to highlight the beauty of feminine traits in NFT projects at a time when male traits dominated the Solana NFT space.” They aim to empower female, queer, and diverse artists, and donate a portion of their funds to organizations such as OutRight and Little Pink Houses of Hope.
26. Girlies NFT – Girlies NFT is a collection of 10,000 NFTs with the goal of empowering women in web3 and helping bridge the gender gap in the space. The artist mentions: “I hope my NFT project can bring more inclusivity and diversity into the NFT space while also inspiring women and young girls from all over the world to pursue art and anything they set their mind to.”
27. Unik Gals – Unik Gals aims to celebrate and normalize visible/invisible disabilities through their NFT collection. They are “the first inclusive brand spanned across the Metaverse, media, entertainment, fashion & entrepreneurship aiming to bring equity, diversity & disability inclusion into our Web3 Revolution.” 5% of proceeds go to PHMP, an organization addressing the need for mental health care for pregnant and postpartum women and girls in South Africa.
28. Girls Riding Things – Girls Riding Things is a collection of 3,333 “unique dames riding broncos, bombs, broomsticks, and more.” Each is generated randomly from over 300 possible traits. 30% of proceeds go towards supporting emerging NFT artists by purchasing their pieces, and 20% is donated to the Fistula Foundation.
29. Women in Blockchain – Women in Blockchain aims to be a catalyst for women in the crypto and blockchain space. They offer opportunities for meetups of those working in the space, help facilitate connections between women developers, and help inspire and encourage women to enter the space.
30. AllStartWomen NFT Club and DAO – AllStarsWomen NFT Club and DAO is “an NFT membership based club and DAO that brings together 10,000 female founders and entrepreneurs from various backgrounds and provide them access to capital, network and resources they need to succeed.” Members of AllStarsWomen will have access to exclusive funding opportunities, podcasts and webinars, and networking opportunities.
31. Diversity in Blockchain- Diversity in Blockchain is a non-profit organization with a mission to “empower everyone from all walks of life to engage with blockchain technology in order to ensure equal participation and distribution.” They aim to achieve this mission through educational forums, workshops, and conferences, networking events, resources, and accelerators.
32. Women from Venus – Women from Venus is a collection of 5,555 randomly generated unique women from Venus NFTs. The project is women-led and focused on creating a safe and welcoming space to onboard women into web3. A portion of proceeds from sales go towards organizations like Free The Girls, and to support other female artists in the NFT space.
33. Crypto Tech Women – Crypto Tech Women is a collection of 8,888 unique and randomly generated NFTs with a mission to “empower, education, and help more women join the web3 space.” They host twitter spaces every Wednesday at 8pm with a panel of women in web3, and create educational opportunities to support women looking to join web3 professionally.
34. Blockchain Ladies – Blockchain Ladies aims to connect women involved in the blockchain ecosystem and shine a light on the great work being done by women in the space. They profile women working in crypto and blockchain, highlight exciting projects led by women, offer opportunities for connections, and collect data related to the gender gap in the crypto and blockchain space.
35. Couture Queenz – Couture Queenz is a collection of 10,000 unique female NFTs celebrating fashion and seeking to build inclusion in the web3 community. “Couture Queenz is passionate about promoting inclusivity in the fashion industy and the NFT space, as such, our range of Couture Queenz come in all races and body types.”
36. Alpha Girl Club – Alpha Girl Club is a collection of 10,000 NFTs consisting of beautiful colours, traits, and themes. Each Alpha NFT provides membership to holders which includes access to the Alpha community, tools, virtual and IRL experiences, a mental health app, and more.
37. Girl Code Club – Girl Code Club is a women-led NFT project which consists of 8,000 pieces representing women from all over the world. A portion of proceeds from sales go towards organizations such as Free A Girl, to support women in need of financial assistance, and to emerging female NFT artists.
38. Women of SOL – Women in SOL is a women-led NFT project, developed by a team from Ghana, focused on tackling the underrespresentation of women in tech. Their collection includes 9,970 unique, hand-drawn women avatars, with a portion of proceeds supporting women’s health and education in West Africa, and supporting women in STEM.
39. BohoBeauties NFT – Bohobeauties is a collection of “beautfiul, minimalist and boho-inspired women” NFTs. 5% of the profits from the sale of their collection is donated to Educate Girls, an organization that provides education to marginalized girls in rural India.
40. Fierce Studios – Fierce Studios is an all-Female-led NFT project with a collection of 10,000 PFP NFTs. A portion of proceeds from the genesis NFT drop supports the 1000 Dreams Fund which provides college scholarships to girls. In 2022, they are planning to offer DeFi education opportunities for women, engage female celebrities, and host IRL events.
