Welcome to the first 3-2-1 roundup! I will be using this format each Friday to highlight some inspiring crypto and blockchain quotes from leaders in the space to really get you thinking, some reflections of my own from the weekly blog posts, and one amazing educational resource in the crypto and blockchain community.

2 - Reflections
Blockchain has the potential to restore trust to an infinite number of sectors, well beyond just the financial sector. With all the certification agencies and seals of approval that verify everything from organic lettuce to fair trade coffee to “sustainable” seafood, these certifications have been ripe with cases of fraud and dishonesty. Large corporations that have relied on these seals of approval to enhance their image of corporate social responsibility must be very scared right now.
The sustainability issue is a challenging one, but not one to get discouraged about. Yes, we should work towards making bitcoin and all cryptocurrencies as environmentally friendly as possible. No, we shouldn’t get discouraged when a gold mining company, who pillages land for a mineral, or a mega bank, with tens of thousands of physical branches, tells us that Bitcoin is doomed because it is inefficient. Although I firmly believe that the environmental impacts of Bitcoin, and crypto more generally, aren’t nearly as bad as the impacts of banks and gold mining companies, it doesn’t mean that we still should take it seriously. The crypto community is better than them, and we will continue to prove it.

Simply Explained is one of my personal favourite YouTube channels that provides easy to understand explanations of some of the world's most complex topics. This channel has a plethora of great videos on crypto and blockchain that are great for those who are new to the space and looking to make sense of the technology and some of the leading crypto projects.
